The United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees has been given a mandate to work with governments to prevent statelessness from occurring, to resolve those cases that do occur, and to protect the rights of stateless persons.

The Institute on Statelessness and Inclusion aims to serve as a partner that builds connections between people concerned about and/or affected by statelessness and disenfranchisement, and to act as a catalyst for change.

Americas Network on Nationality and Statelessness
The Americas Network on Nationality and Statelessness is a network of civil society organizations, academic initiatives, and individual experts committed to addressing statelessness in the Americas. We believe that all human beings have a right to a nationality and that those who lack nationality altogether — stateless persons — are entitled to adequate protection.

The Migration Working Group aims to promote dialogue, awareness, and community involvement in national and international migration issues.

Nowhere People
Nowhere People intends to give a small voice to people who, for generations, have had none. It aims to show the human toll that the denial of citizenship has claimed on people and ethnic programs that find themselves excluded from society by forces beyond their control.

Global Campaign for Equal Nationality Rights
Equality Now, the Equal Rights Trust, Institute on Statelessness and Inclusion, UNHCR, UN Women and the Women’s Refugee Commission have formed a steering committee to lead the Global Campaign for Equal Nationality Rights. The campaign aims to eliminate gender discrimination in nationality laws.
